The Legislative team of the Colorado National Association of Benefits and Insurance Professionals is very active and involved in healthcare and health insurance policy issues taking place in Colorado and around the country.

As you read this and explore the legislative area of our website, please remember that as industry professionals, we are better together. Being a member will help you grow as a professional. And as professionals, it is our privilege and responsibility to give back to the industry that has allowed us all to succeed. I would invite all of you to become involved in the process that may have a direct effect on our business and future.

The goals of the Legislative team include but are not limited to helping to educate our elected officials in Denver and Washington, DC about the professional value that Health Insurance Brokers and Carriers bring to the small business owner and individual consumer dealing with the complexities of healthcare and health insurance.

The team will do so by being involved and “taking and keeping our seat at the table” in the ongoing discussions, meetings and debates that are taking place right now in both the state and federal Capitols.

 Our Association takes a position on many issues impacting the healthcare marketplace, affordability of health insurance and issues impacting your businesses. NABIP has been engaged in top policy issues such as FAMLI, the State Option, the uninsured, PPACA, and more. NABIP continues to stress the need for quality healthcare and controlling the cost for that care.

As a NABIP-CO member, you can read about the introduced pieces of legislation and their status in the Insurance Insider’s back issues that are archived HERE.  But you must be a member in order to reach this critical information.  This is one of the biggest values of your NABIP-CO membership.

We will also keep our members updated on important meetings, political fundraisers and industry related events around the state. Again, a critical reason for you to join.

Our Political Action Committee (NABIP-CO PAC) makes contributions to various legislators influential in the healthcare arena.
